Two ways to wear a red and black manicure!

Hello loves! I know, I know, I've been a bad mother to my blog. Its a good thing Google doesn't have child services! Anyways, new season dictates I must abandon my pastels and neons, and that's exactly what I did for these two manis.

To be completely honest, this was a challenge to me, because as a rule, I avoid mani ideas that have become quite common over the period of time. It doesn't mean I don't love them, it's just that I feel like there's nothing I could add to them apart from following the tutorials to the T. I mean who doesn't love planning manis, right?!

But thats not to say that recreating the look is easy peasy. It's NOT. When you are recreating someone else's work, the pressure's high because it's someone else's work and you can't eff that up! 😓😓😓

First one I did was a classic dark gradient transitioning from Red to Black. When done right, this is literally the chic -est look ever. Keyword, 'right'. The trick is choosing darker shades of red instead of picking just a bottle of red and blobbing it over black. (or so I've been told in numerous tutorials) I picked a cool red, and sandwiched a little bit of maroon in between before black. I won't say I've nailed the look, it looks decent 😉

I even have a tutorial for this mani! It's my first video ever, so there are a lot of mistakes to pick!

The next one was done for Clairestelle8 's monthly nailart challenge, for the prompt Gothic. I chose to go with a sexy black lace image over Maybelline's Rogue Profond, a gorgeous red 💕
The lace image is from UR Beautiful plate, which in case you haven't heard, are great dupes for UC plates!

I hope you find the video entertaining! The lace mani was my favorite, simply because the amount of effort involved was so less, and the outcome looked classier than my first mani! Pro tip, never put darker colors near the cuticle, you'll be cleaning them for the rest of your life 😬😬
